1960s Series- Bye Bye Birdie

As films and clothing from the 1960s are an integral part of who I am as a stylist and filmmaker, this will be the first in an ongoing series on my blog. Today we did a shoot with my friends Alex and Nicole as well as myself. This is the first shoot set in the style of a giddy Ann Margaret from Bye Bye Birdie. This film's campiness is pure gold. I aspired to be as confident as Ann Margaret in this film as a child.  For Al's look I wanted her to be luxurious yet comfortable. Just because you're laying around doesn't mean you can't be glamorous.

sweater: H&M, shorts: Champion, tights: Hue, scarf: vintage, smoky eye: Benefit's Badgal pencil and Magic Eye

  1. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this!!!! OMG, Ann Margaret was amazing in this particular film. I used to sing and dance in my room trying to be her when I was a young girl. Alex looks amazing and represents this genre beautifully here, great styling on this, well done. Wonderful photos Nicky too! What a great concept to pursue. Cannot wait to see more.
